“Where are you going, Beauty on the bicycle”… these are the words of an old famous italian song. It happens to me to think about those words many times when I see stylish people riding a bicycle, I always love to look at their style and I get immediatelly captured by the charm of their lifestyle. “Cycle Chic” is a well known definition nowadays, which stems from the awareness that cycling is fashionable basically since the invention of the bicycle itself in the 1880s. If you want proof it won’t be difficult to find several fans of the bicycles who over the years have loved them, starting from the very first famous “riders” like Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, James Stuart, Sofia Loren and so on …to the present day.

“Ma dove vai, Bellezza in bicicletta”… sono le parole di una vecchia famosissima canzone italiana. Mi succede spesso di pensare a quelle parole tutte le volte che vedo la gente andare in bicicletta con stile, mi piace sempre osservare il loro look e vengo immediatamente catturata dal fascino del loro stile di vita. “Cycle Chic” (che si postrebbe tradurre “pedalare chic”) è una definizione ormai ben nota, che nasce dalla consapevolezza che la bicicletta rappresenta un mezzo alla moda sin da quando fu inventata nel 1880. Se volete una prova non vi sarà difficile trovare i numerosi fan di biciclette che nel corso degli anni le hanno amate, a partire dai primi “ciclisti” più famosi come Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, James Stuart, Sofia Loren e così via … fino ai giorni nostri.

Have you ever noticed that cicling people have a special appeal that makes them effortlessly chic? The bicycle seems to be a sort of style tool that has a lot to do with fashion and the quality of life, don’t you think? In our age, where the return to origins is extremely in vogue, also riding the bicycle is becoming more popular than ever, emphasizing the importance of respecting the environment, the growing desire of simple natural things and why not also a naturally chic personal style.

La bicicletta sembra essere una sorta di strumento di stile che ha molto a che fare con la moda e la qualità della vita, non trovate anche voi? Nella nostra epoca, in cui il ritorno alle origini è molto in voga, anche andare in bicicletta sta diventando più popolare che mai, sottolineando l’importanza del rispetto dell’ambiente, il desiderio crescente di cose naturali semplici e perché no anche uno stile personale naturalmente chic.

Provided that here are no real rules for cicling chic, I would say like any other chic outfit it’s all a matter of simplicity, functionality and understanding what is appropriate and what is not… never repress your creativity and your own style, just try to keep in mind that “less is more”!

• Best hairset? The ponytail
• Best accessories? Rings, bracelets, hat, sunglasses
• Best shoes? Espadrilles and ballerinas

Premesso che non ci sono regole vere e proprie per essere chic in bicicletta, direi che come qualsiasi altro look chic è tutta una questione di semplicità, funzionalità e capire che cosa è più appropriato e cosa non lo è … mai reprimere la vostra creatività e il vostro stile, cercate solo di tenere a mente che “less is more” ovvero “meno è meglio”!
